This Brown Street Clock is owned by Jim VanOrsdel and was removed from it's 1990 installation at the intersection of Trade and Tryon Streets in the heart of Uptown Charlotte, NC.
Its whereabout today is unknown.
The following information was from a 1990 article in the newspaper......
The cast-iron clock is about 14 feet tall with 36" milk-glass dials on two sides and made by the Brown Street Clock Co. The dials are back-lite at night. Once a week, the clock has to be wound with a crank, for it is a double-weight-driven pendulum-regulated style clock inside of the key-locked base.
The City provided the needed wiring to the clock and footings. The dedication of this clock was on July 13, 1990.
