Brown Street Clock

Pocatello, Idaho

This Brown Street clock is owned by Molinelli's Jewelers and is located at 126 N. Main Street.

It has been modified with neon lights.

The photos below were taken in 2016. Steve Schmidt talks with Molinelli's owner, Lance Buttars.

Below, the cap of the base has been remade in aluminum at some point.

Inside the base, the original wind movement has been replaced with two electric clock movements in the clock head.

Below, Lance had a full scale replica of the clock made in a type of poli-foam to be used on a trailer in parades to advertize his store.

However, the parade unit was too high to go under street overhead wires. So the column was removed to lower the clock head.

Below, Lance had a second working post clock made to replicate the Brown Street clock in front of his store.

This clock adorns the rear entrance of the business.

Molinelli's Jewelry Store is the oldest Idaho jewelry store in the state.

Below is a photo taken in the early 1900's.

The huge wall cases were donated to a museum and the floor cases were re-purposed into the design of the 2015 Molinelli store interior remodel.

Here is the store in the 1940's.

The neon lights and art deco adornment was added in the 1940s.
